INDEPENDENCE, Mo. — Truman Library is set to reopen to visitors Tuesday after a mechanical issue forced the library to temporarily close last week.

The mechanical issue caused the air conditioning unit to stop working and library officials decided it was safest to close while repairs were done. The closure was part of an effort to prevent any heat-related injuries.

“We appreciate the public’s patience and understanding last week and sincerely regret the inconvenience to visitors,” Truman Library Acting Director Susan Donius said in a news release.
