Two injured in overnight traffic accidents

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Two people were taken to the hospital after two separate accidents overnight.

The first accident happened around 11:30 Thursday night near I-435 and 24 Highway in Kansas City. A semi crashed and temporarily shut down the southbound lanes of 435 for several hours. One person suffered serious injuries.

The second accident happened around 2:30 a.m. Friday on the ramp from I-35 to I-635 in Johnson County. The driver suffered critical injuries.

Slick roads may be to blame for the accidents.
