PAOLA, Kan. — Two young girls were injured after being struck by a vehicle while riding a bike in Paola on Friday afternoon.

According to Paola Police, the two girls, who were riding one bicycle, were struck by a vehicle in the 400 block of E. Osage around 4:00 p.m. on Friday.

The two victims, who have not been identified except that they were sisters, were taken by helicopter to area hospitals. Their condition is not known.

Police say that the driver of the vehicle did stop after hitting the girls. Authorities say that the case is still under investigation, and it’s too soon to know if the driver will face any charges.
