KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Two people were injured, one critically, in a shooting Wednesday afternoon in northeast Kansas City.
Police said officers were dispatched just before 4:30 p.m. to the area of 18th and Ewing Avenue on a reported sound of gunfire.
While en route, a separate call came near 16th and Ewing for an injury crash. Officers determined the two were connected and responded to 16th and Ewing.
When the arrived, the found the driver and passenger had both been shot. Neither of them were able to provide any details about the shooting because of their injuries.
Both were transported to local hospitals. The driver is in stable condition, and the passenger is in critical condition with life-threatening injuries.
