PROVIDENCE, R.I. — Internet, you’ve done it again. Thanks to a viral video from a 13-year-old New Jersey girl, and an oven hot change.org campaign, Hasbro will begin selling gender-neutral Easy Bake ovens, according to USA TODAY.
The online-only campaign caught fire after McKenna Pope told the interwebs she could only find pink or purple ovens — colors which didn’t appeal to her younger brother, destined to be the next Top Chef.
Turns out, Hasbro took notice and invited Pope and the rest of her family to the company’s Rhode Island headquarters and showed them prototypes for new ovens — which could come in black, silver or blue, USA TODAY said.
Going even further, the company said they planned to include boys in future commercials and on packaging.
If cooking by light bulb is your thing, the new mini ovens should be on store shelves this summer.
