INDEPENDENCE, Mo. — An Independence private school will not be in session on Monday after vandals caused damage to the school over the weekend.

Over the weekend, vandals smashed windows and ceiling tiles at Messiah Lutheran School in the 600 block of S. Main Street in Independence.

In addition, the vandals stole televisions, computers and other electronics from the school, which serves about 100 students ranging from Pre-Kindergarten to 8th Grade.

School officials say that this is the second such attack on the school in the past two weeks. They hope to have the school ready for students by Tuesday.
