LENEXA, Kan. -- A local community is stepping up to help those in need keep warm this winter.

The Lenexa police station, Lenexa City Hall and Lenexa Community Center are accepting donations through the end of the year.  Those wanting to donate can drop off new hats, scarves, gloves and mittens at any of the locations.

All items collected will be donated to Safehome and the Shawnee Mission Area Council Clothing Exchange.
