LAWRENCE, Kan. — President Obama is scheduled to speak at the Anschutz Sports Pavilion on the University of Kansas campus at 11:20 a.m. Thursday. After the speech, he’ll take off for Topeka and leave on Air Force One, although he may make a few more stops before departure. (KU basketball coach Bill Self hoped to shoot some hoops with him, but it remains to be seen if they could fit that into the presidential schedule.)

After he left the hotel Thursday morning, President Obama visited the headquarters for the Kansas Head Start Association, 932 Massachusetts Street in Lawrence. Head Start is an early learning program. The President was expected to speak on education and other issues he addressed in his State of the Union speech Tuesday.
