GERMANTOWN, Wis. — The Wisconsin Department of Transportation’s traffic cameras captured a frightening massive pileup on Highway 41/45 around noon on Sunday, December 8th.

Wisconsin’s FOX 11 News reported about 50 cars were involved in the chain-reaction pileup.

Officials say the video clearly shows people were driving too fast for the conditions on the roadways. They say it also illustrates something you’re never supposed to do — step outside of your vehicle along the roadside — especially when the conditions are as they were on Sunday.

“Stay in your vehicle, and certainly, keep your seatbelt fastened. Make sure everybody in the vehicle has their seatbelt fastened,” Captain Mike Snow, Germantown Police Department told FOX 11.
