KANSAS CITY, Mo. – On Thursday at Worlds of Fun, “Boomerang” stopped in its tracks during an afternoon ride, with riders still buckled in their seats.

The ride was shut down after the riders were evacuated.

A metro man told FOX 4 he was at the park when the ride stopped working and sent us pictures.

He spent the day at Worlds of Fun with his kids — and said that he saw men working underneath the roller coaster after it stopped.

According to the state of Missouri, Boomerang was last inspected at the end of April. At that time, the roller coaster passed inspection.

The state also inspected it in April of 2015. It also passed inspection then, but the report notes that the ride was showing some wear and tear.
