SHAWNEE, Kan. — A woman was hit by a car while walking early Sunday morning in Shawnee.

Police said it happened just before 7 a.m. in the 17400 block of Midland Dr., near interstate 435.

The woman, whose name has not been released, was taken the hospital. She’s expected to be OK, police said.

The person who hit her was found in the area. Police do not initially believe alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash.

No other information was made available by police.
