Woman’s body recovered from Blue River

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Kansas City Police say officers were called for a body floating in the Blue River on Monday, and Kansas City fire personnel recovered a woman's body around 1 p.m.

The surrounding area is mostly industrial in the 2100 block of Manchester, the woman's body was taken out of the water about a quarter-mile from the Missouri River.

How the woman ended up there is still under investigation. Police have not yet said if foul play is involved, or if she accidentally fell in the river.
