KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- An exciting announcement at Worlds of Fun. The theme park is growing! Two new rides will open in the spring, and Worlds of Fun is redesigning its front entrance, adding what will be called an ‘International Plaza.’

Worlds of Fun has more than 70 rides and slides.

The new plaza will be home to two new rides.  The first is Falcon's Flight. It will take you nearly a hundred feet above the ground -- rising and spinning at the same time. The second is Mustang Runner.  Three arms with seven gondolas per arm will turn one way while the base of the ride turns the other way.  Worlds of Fun is also introducing "Winter Fest." The park will turn into a winter wonderland for six weeks.

“We really are looking forward to Winter Fest. I think that it’s going to be a great opportunity to extend our season. When we talk about our season pass base and our unique visitors it is a great time to be able to extend our season for another six weeks. So we’re really excited about it. And in conjunction with a couple rides, they’re going to add a lot of value to our season pass and our unique visits every day,” said Frank Wilburn of Worlds of Fun.

"Families will be able to ring in the holidays next season and enjoy what is sure to be a new family tradition," the Worlds of Fun website says under the 'New in 2017' tab.

WinterFest will showcase 14 favorite holiday characters, spectacular light displays, ice skating, and festive live entertainment. The park will be transformed into a winter wonderland for six weeks beginning November 24, 2017.
