HyVee Dietitian, Kodi Moore is on talking about HyVee and St. Luke's Cardio Wellness Center 'Heart Healthy Cooking Classes' for the month of February. This is to celebrate American Heart Month.

Classes are only $10 and you just need to call the store you wish to attend before and register. On Friday, Kodi talked about their "cooking with cardio wellness" classes being offered next Tuesday, the 7th. She makes a very heart-healthy oatmeal breakfast on air for viewers to try at home.

HEART HEALTHY OATMEAL

Ingredients:

  • 1 apple
  • ½ cup quick oats
  • 1 cup water
  • ½ scoop Cinnamon Bun Healthy 100% Whey
  • ¼ cup walnut pieces

 

Preparation:

Dice one apple and put in microwavable bowl. Cook on HIGH
2-3 minutes or until desired tenderness is reached. Set aside.

Place oats and water in a microwave-safe bowl and cook on
HIGH for 1-½ to 2 minutes, or until desired consistency
is reached. Stir in whey (scoop comes in the bag), cooked apple
and walnuts. Enjoy!
