KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Kansas City Royals take on the Toronto Blue Jays Friday night at Kauffman Stadium for Game 1 of the ALCS.
Edinson Volquez (13-9, 3.55 ERA) will be the starting pitcher for the Royals. Marco Estrada (13-8, 3.13 ERA) will be the starting pitcher for the Blue Jays. The series is a rematch of the 1985 ALCS. The Royals won Game 7 in Toronto to advance to the 1985 World Series.

- They won the AL East and had a record of 93-69.
- Toronto beat Kansas City 4 out of 7 times this year.
- Watch out for Josh Donaldson, Jose Bautista and Edwin Encarnacion. They lead the team with a combined 120 home runs. For comparison, the top three Royals home run hitters have a combined 65.
Game 1 of the ALCS is on FOX 4 on Friday night, first pitch is at 7:07 p.m.
