SECOND HALF

  • North Carolina misses a three pointer at the buzzer, KU wins the national championship 72-69!
  • Bacot on the ground, seems to have reinjured his ankle, 70-69 Kansas with just under 40 seconds.
  • McCormack scores on a hook to give KU the lead back, 70-69 Jayhawks with 1:19 to play.
  • Manek scores on a putback off Caleb Love to give UNC a 69-68 lead with 1:42 left in the game.
  • Remy Martin hits another three to give Kansas a 68-65 lead.
  • Puff Johnson on the ground after a blow to the stomach. He seemed to throw up, game has been stopped, Kansas leads 63-61.
  • Martin hits another three for Kansas, Jayahwks lead 60-57.

  • Just like that it’s a one point game, Kansas goes on a 12-1 run after an Ochai Agbaji layup, 46-45 Tar-Heels with 12:41 to play.
  • Jayhawks start out the second half fast, Jalen Wilson gets the basket plus the foul to make it an eight point game, 45-37 UNC.

FIRST HALF

  • UNC goes into the half up 40-25, Kansas continues to struggle shooting the ball as they only had one field goal in the last six minutes. UNC up 18-2 in second chance points. Bacot leads the game with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Agbaji leads KU with 8 points.
  • North Carolina getting whatever they want in the paint, Kansas is getting to the rim but the shots won’t seem to fall, 36-22 Tar-Heels. UNC has 16 unanswered.
  • This is the Jayhawks largest deficit of the tournament.
  • Davis gets fouled on a three-pointer, UNC is continually getting to the free-throw line, UNC now up 32-22 after Davis hits all three, they’re on a 10-0 run.
  • Timeout Kansas, Manek hits two straight threes to give UNC a 28-22 lead.
  • UNC dominating on the glass as they go on an 8-0 run, they now lead KU 22-18. They also lead 10-0 on second chance points
  • Martin hits a three off the glass, not sure he called glass, doesn’t matter, 18-14 Jayhawks.
  • Both teams are getting up and down the floor, struggling to hit shots, but they should settle in. Kansas leads 15-12.
