KU on verge of 10th straight Big 12 title

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Big 12 Basketball Championship will tip off in Kansas City in two weeks and two days, and the Kansas Jayhawks can clinch the tournament’s number 1-seed with a win Monday night over Oklahoma at Allen Fieldhouse in Lawrence.

More importantly, Kansas can clinch at least a tie for its 10th straight Big 12 regular season title with a victory. Coming off a 31-point win over Texas on Saturday night, the Jayhawks will host an Oklahoma team that they have already beaten this season, 90-83 in Norman.

With 4 regular season games to go, Kansas currently has a 3-game lead on Oklahoma, Texas, and Iowa State.

Tipoff at Allen Fieldhouse Monday night is set for shortly after 8:00 p.m. The top 6-teams in the Big 12 regular season standings will receive first round byes in the Big 12 Championship, which is set to start on Wednesday, March 12th at the Sprint Center in Kansas City.
