MANHATTAN, Kan. — Behind a career-high 34 points from freshman Marcus Foster, K-State whipped Texas 74-57. The loss snapped the Longhorns’ seven-game winning streak.

Foster’s 34 points are the most for K-State since Jacob Pullen went for 38 in a 2011 NCAA Tournament game. It’s also the most by a KSU freshman since Michael Beasley scored 39 against KU in 2008.

The Wildcats were great defensively, holding the Horns to a season-low 57 points on 32-percent shooting.

“It was one of those days. It was a special day, we were in the zone,” head coach Bruce Weber said. “It was the shooting, but it is really the energy, the excitement, and the passion.”

The Kansas State Wildcats (16-7/6-4) host the Kansas Jayhawks on Monday night.
