KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Less than a week after the Kansas City Royals won the franchise’s second World Series title, the front office must begin its work to build another winner for the 2016 season. During a news conference on Thursday, GM Dayton Moore and Manager Ned Yost said they’ll do everything in their power to keep the best players from the 2015 team.

That work starts on Saturday with the beginning of free agency. Royals from 2015 that are now free agents include: Alex Gordon, Ben Zobrist, Chris Young, Jeremy Guthrie, Ryan Madson, Johnny Cueto, Alex Rios and Franklin Morales.
