MONTREAL — Sporting Kansas City earned another hard fought point on the road, after a 0-0 draw against the Montreal Impact at Stade Saputo on Saturday afternoon.

Sporting All-Star goalkeeper Jimmy Nielsen collected his Major League Soccer-leading 13th shutout this season.

Sporting KC outshot Montreal 9-7.

With the win, Sporting improved to 16-7-7 with a whopping 55 points. Sporting KC currently owns a five-point lead over the Chicago Fire (15-8-5, 50 points) for first place in the Eastern Conference.

Montreal is now 12-15-4 with 40 points.

Sporting KC takes on the Chicago Fire on Friday night at Livestrong Sporting Park.
